As part of the 2007 Refill Mug Program, for each mug sold, Sodexo will make a $.15 donation to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) to support on-the-ground conservation. Now in its twelth year, the Sodexo Refill Mug Program has made a significant contribution to conservation efforts dedicated to improving the health of fish, wildlife, and plants.
"Thanks to the support of Sodexo Food Service Directors and consumers who purchased hundreds of thousands of mugs, more than $200,000 has been raised in the past eleven years for wildlife and environmental programs," said John Berry, Executive Director NFWF. "The Refill Mug Program provides concerned citizens with the opportunity to show their commitment to preserving and enhancing the environment for generations to come."
This year, mugs will be sold through Sodexo's outlets in thousands of schools, colleges, universities, hospitals and restaurants. The funds raised through the purchase of Sodexo mugs are being used to conserve healthy populations of rare, threatened, endangered, or declining species; protect and restore critical habitats; and promote conservation education through integrated, hands-on, science-based learning experiences.
The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting the conservation of fish, wildlife, plants and their habitats by attracting diverse investments, encouraging public and private collaboration, and funding the stewardship of natural resources. Established by an act of Congress in 1984, the Foundation supports and invests in the best possible solutions for wildlife conservation through creative, diverse and respectful partnerships. To date, NFWF has supported more than 5,500 projects in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and 27 foreign countries, resulting in more than $700 million for the on-the-ground conservation activities.
